Świeradów-Zdrój
Poidło Waterfall is an intimate cascade in the Izera Mountains, within the boundaries of Świeradów-Zdrój, at about 590 m above sea level. The water drops into the Wodopój stream close to where it joins the river Kwisa. The site is small but striking: the stream spills over rock steps in a shady spruce forest, away from the bustle of the spa town.
The waterfall looks best in spring, when the snow melts, and after heavier rainfall; in dry summers the flow can be thin. In winter the cascade often freezes and coats the rocks with icy formations. The surroundings are damp and shaded and the stones can be slippery, so footwear with a good sole is useful for going down to the water.
Świeradów-Zdrój is a spa town with a historic promenade hall and spa house, and at the same time a base for the Izera Mountains. Waymarked trails and Singletrack cycling routes run through the area, and above the town rises Stóg Izerski with its viewing tower, reached by a gondola lift.
