Dolina Będkowska, Wieś Będkowice
Szum Waterfall lies on the Będkówka river in the Będkowska Valley, within the Kraków Valleys Landscape Park. It drops about four metres, which makes it one of the highest and one of the few waterfalls in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The water falls from a limestone step into a small basin surrounded by damp riparian woodland.
The blue Trail of the Jurassic Strongholds, running along the floor of the Będkowska Valley, leads to the waterfall. The site lies between the Brandysówka hostel and a distinctive tor known as the Elephant's Rump. The final stretch is a narrow path above the stream, slippery in places after rain.
The waterfall looks best in spring and after prolonged rainfall, when the Będkówka carries plenty of water; in summer the flow can be modest. A visit takes about a quarter of an hour, so it is usually combined with a longer walk through the valley, rich in limestone crags and climbing grounds.
