Wieś Przesieka
Dziurawa Skała rises at a sharp bend of the road leading to Przesieka, in the Jelenia Góra Basin at the foot of the Karkonosze. Despite first impressions it is not a single block but a rock group about twenty metres high. The name comes from the cavity in its upper part, visible from the road as a distinctive opening.
The Podgórna stream flows at the foot of the rock, and a wooden carving of the Spirit of the Mountains, patron of Karkonosze legends, stands beside it. After dark the formation is floodlit, which brings out its vertical faces and fissures. The stop takes a quarter of an hour, but the surroundings invite a longer walk along the stream.
Between the wars the rock was a well-known point on German tourist maps. It was later forgotten and the surroundings grew over with spruce forest. Only in 2008, on the initiative of the Przesieka authorities, was the site cleared and reopened to visitors.
