Wieś Bóbrka
The quarry in Bóbrka is a former sandstone pit on the slopes of Koziniec (522 m above sea level) in the Bieszczady Mountains, close to Myczkowce. Extraction ceased long ago, and the exposed rock faces and the overgrowing hollow now create an unusual, half-wild landscape. The site is valued above all as a natural viewpoint towards the Solina reservoir.
In 2004 the area was placed under nature reserve protection. Orchids, Moldavian monkshood and wood lettuce grow here, while the warm, exposed rocks favour reptiles — the adder, smooth snake, Aesculapian snake and slow worm can all be encountered. The yellow-bellied toad lives in damp hollows. It is worth moving carefully and keeping to the beaten paths.
No official marked trail leads to the pit, but finding it causes no difficulty. A clearly trodden path marked in blue branches off the Bóbrka–Myczkowce road and leads straight to the exposed sandstone.
