Wieś Gorzeszów
Głazy Krasnoludków is a reserve of just over 9 hectares, established in 1970 next to the village of Gorzeszów in Lower Silesia. It lies in the Zawory range, in the north-western part of the Stołowe Mountains, and protects rock formations together with rare plants and natural forest communities.
The rocks stretch in a belt some 1,200 metres long and nearly 200 metres wide, set among spruce forest. Long-term erosion shaped them into columns, mushrooms, clubs and tilted platforms; the tallest reach 17 metres. A path runs between them, allowing a circuit of the most interesting rock groups.
Protection also covers rare plant species — the carline thistle and lily of the valley grow here, among others. The undergrowth is damp and shady, and the spruce forest muffles sound, which heightens the sense of seclusion. Walking the reserve takes roughly an hour.
