Wieś Uherce Mineralne
The waterfall on the Olszanka lies in Uherce Mineralne, right by the route of the so-called Great Bieszczady Loop, which makes it one of the most accessible natural sites in the region. Water drops from a modest height of 2.5–3 metres over a threshold about 38 metres wide, forming a broad, sprawling cascade. The site is protected as a monument of inanimate nature.
An erosion pothole about 2 metres deep has formed below the step. Next to it a rockslide exposes layers of Carpathian flysch, a clear lesson in the geological structure of the Bieszczady. On the opposite bank stretches a stony beach, popular with visitors for a break and a rest.
The easiest approach is along the “In the Land of Beavers” ecomuseum trail, laid out in the Uherce Basin. A visit takes about fifteen minutes, so it fits easily into a drive towards Solina or Ustrzyki Dolne.
