Ciężkowice
Skamieniałe Miasto is a reserve of inanimate nature in the Ciężkowice Foothills, on the right bank of the river Biała. It spreads about a kilometre from the centre of Ciężkowice, on the hill called Skała reaching 367 m above sea level, within the Ciężkowice-Rożnów Landscape Park. The name comes from the cluster of sandstone tors which from a distance resemble the buildings of a town.
A blue trail runs through the reserve, starting at the car park below the forest. Just beyond it stands the Grunwald outcrop, and further on opens a clearing known as the Scouts' Ravine, with benches and tables. The trail crosses the Fox Ravine, passes the Rock with a Cross and leads to the Ciężkowice Ravine and the Witches' Waterfall.
The route is short and clearly waymarked, so it works well as a family outing. The tors have their own names, and tracking them down in the field is good fun for children. Some climbs are steep and the paths get slippery after rain.
