Wieś Jerzmanowice
Wzgórze 502, also known as Grodzisko, is a summit tor in Jerzmanowice near Cracow. Its name comes directly from its height of 502 m above sea level, which makes it the highest hill of the Olkusz Upland and the second highest in the whole Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. A concrete pillar, a Polish survey marker, stands on the top.
The ascent needs no preparation or equipment, and the reward is a broad view. From the top you take in the rolling ranges of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, the Tenczynek Ridge and the buildings of Cracow, and when the air is clear also the Carpathian ranges, including the Tatras. It is one of the finest viewpoints in this part of the Jura.
The hill lies within the Dolinki Krakowskie Landscape Park, and the whole rock complex is protected as a natural monument. The limestone walls are among the highest-lying climbing venues in the region and attract climbers throughout the season.
