Karpacz
Dziki Wodospad lies in Karpacz, close to the Biały Jar hotel and the lower station of the lift to Kopa. It formed on the Łomnica river at a check dam built in the 20th century. The water drops over a concrete step in a broad, noisy veil, creating one of the most accessible viewpoints in town.
The Łomnica collects water from beneath the Karkonosze ridges and its source lies above 1400 m above sea level. The large drop means the river rises quickly after heavy rain and has caused flooding many times in the past. That is why its bed was regulated with dams, one of which gave rise to the waterfall.
It looks best in spring and after rainfall, when the flow is highest, while in summer the surroundings are lush and green. A stop takes only a few minutes, so it is easy to combine with a hike to Śnieżka, a walk around Karpacz or a visit to the Wang church.
