Wieś Karłów
Łężyckie Skałki is a group of sandstone tors scattered across a wide mountain meadow at 740–780 m above sea level, in the Central Sudetes. They lie at the foot of Narożnik in the Stołowe Mountains, close to the Lisia Przełęcz pass and the road running from Duszniki-Zdrój through Łężyce. Individual blocks are three to four metres tall and rise from the grass at generous intervals.
This unusual arrangement — lone rocks standing in open space — gave the site its second name: the African Savannah. The resemblance to an African steppe is strongest in summer, when the grasses grow tall and the rocks cast long shadows. The landscape is entirely different from the rock labyrinths of Szczeliniec or Błędne Skały, although it rests on the same sandstone bedrock.
The meadow is under strict protection because of its rare meadow and peat-bog vegetation, so visitors must keep to the marked path. A green hiking trail crosses the area, leading from Lisia Przełęcz near Karłów to Lewin Kłodzki. There are no facilities on site; the nearest ones are in Karłów.
