Szklarska Poręba
Twarożnik is a group of granite rocks about 12 metres high, rising on the slope of Sokolnik in the Karkonosze mountains, just above the Mokra Przełęcz pass. The name comes from their shape: the rounded blocks resemble a round of white cheese. Administratively the site belongs to Szklarska Poręba.
The rocks are a natural resting place and one of the better viewpoints in this part of the range. They open a panorama towards Szrenica and the Kamienna valley, and in clear weather also across to the Czech side of the ridge. Around them grows a montane spruce forest, thinned in places, which widens the view further.
The shortest route starts at Szrenica and leads past the Trzy Świnki rocks and over Mokra Przełęcz, a little more than a kilometre of easy walking. A longer option begins at the mountain hut below Łabski Szczyt. The red Polish-Czech Friendship Trail and a yellow trail from Rokytnice nad Jizerou run nearby.
