ul. Rozewska, Wieś Jastrzębia Góra
Lisi Jar is a deep, wooded ravine between Jastrzębia Góra and Rozewie, within the Coastal Landscape Park. It cuts into the cliff shore for about 350 metres, reaching almost 50 metres in depth in places, and leads through a narrow corridor straight down to the beach.
Beech forest covers the slopes, giving deep shade in summer and turning copper in autumn. The ravine is an active landform: the sea keeps undercutting the cliff, so its mouth retreats inland. In the past the cleft reached far further inland than the stretch open today.
In the early 1920s a tourist hostel was built here on the initiative of Count de Rosset, and an obelisk was raised beside the ravine to commemorate the return of Sigismund III Vasa from his voyage for the Swedish crown. The eagle crowning the monument was taken to Germany in 1939 and returned to its place only in 1995.
