ul. Wierzchowska, ul. Kluczwody, Wieś Bolechowice
Dolina Kluczwody lies in the southern part of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, among the so-called Kraków Valleys, between Wierzchowie and Bolechowice. The Kluczwoda stream meanders along the bottom, with limestone cliffs and rock towers above it. Of the six-kilometre valley, a section about one kilometre long is open to visitors.
The slopes are covered with oak-hornbeam forest, while the rocks carry swards of xerothermic and calcicole vegetation — more than a hundred warmth-loving species grow here. The valley is also a good place for birdwatching, with kestrels, swifts, pheasants and jays. Nearby lies the Wierzchowska Cave, one of the longest in the region.
The border between the Austrian and Russian partitions once ran along the stream; reconstructed boundary posts by the path recall this. The route is easy and the open section takes about 20 minutes to walk, so the valley works well for an outing with children.
