Wieś Karłów
Sawanna Pasterska is a wide open meadow stretching between the hamlet of Pasterka and the village of Karłów, within the Stołowe Mountains National Park. The name comes from the layout of the space: single sandstone blocks and clumps of trees are scattered across the grassland, which from a distance recalls an African landscape.
The site is one of the best viewpoints in the massif. Opposite rises the wall of Szczeliniec Wielki (Great Heuscheuer), next to it stands Szczeliniec Mały, closed to visitors, and further away the ridge with Skalnik, the highest summit of the range. The open space makes the panorama readable from almost anywhere on the meadow.
The green and blue trails linking Pasterka with Karłów run across the savannah. The route is gentle and well marked, so it works well with children. National park rules apply: walking is allowed only on designated paths.
