Wieś Tomaszowice
Wąwóz Podskalański, also called Dolina Podskalańska, lies in the hamlet of Podskalany in the village of Tomaszowice, on the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland near Kraków. It formed in the escarpment separating the Ojców Plateau from the Krzeszowice Graben, and its slopes rise about five metres. The Wedonka stream runs along its floor.
The best known feature of the gorge is Borsucza Skała — the only climbing rock here, with around ten routes established on it. Nearby stand the Borsucza Cave and the formations known as Wielka Skała and Niewielka Skała. Beeches and hornbeams cover the limestone walls, so the gorge stays shaded even in summer.
The black hiking trail Modlinica – Dolina Kluczwody, about 6.4 km long, runs through the gorge and takes just under two hours. A black cycling route forming a closed loop follows the valley floor. A horse riding centre operates at the mouth of the gorge, and walking the most interesting section takes about an hour.
