Wieś Kobylany
Dolina Kobylańska in the village of Kobylany is one of the most visited small valleys west of Kraków. It is famous for the limestone crags scattered across its slopes, which give it a distinctive character and attract both walkers and climbers. The valley belongs to the Kraków Valleys Landscape Park.
A comfortable path runs through the southern part of the valley from Turystyczna street, where the traffic is heaviest. Beyond the Brama Kobylańska gate it grows quieter, and after some twenty minutes of walking you pass the rock known as Płetwa. The section further on is narrower and less spectacular, but almost empty.
Hiking and cycling routes run through the valley; a yellow trail about three kilometres long links it with Będkowice and can be extended as far as the Będkowska Valley. It is most convenient to leave the car in Kobylany, as the path from the car park west of the valley is steep.
