Zakopane
Jaskinia Dziura, also known as the Robbers' Den, lies in the Dolina ku Dziurze valley on the foothill ridges above Zakopane. It is the most easily reached open cave in the Tatras — just 1.4 km of comfortable path from the car park, covered in about 20 minutes, so even small children manage it.
The cave has roughly 180 m of passages, of which about 50 m can be visited, with 43 m of vertical range. In practice it is one large chamber preceded by a short vestibule, without dripstone formations. In winter and early spring striking ice formations and stalagmites appear, while in summer the interior stays bare and rocky. A torch comes in handy.
The easiest option is to leave the car at the mouth of the Strążyska Valley and walk the Ścieżka nad Reglami path. Tatra National Park entrance fees do not yet apply on this section. A legend surrounds the cave, telling of a highland robber who supposedly used it as his hideout.
