Wieś Żabnica
Górska Stacja Turystyczna “Słowianka” is a privately run mountain lodge in the Żywiec Beskids, set on the Hala Słowianka meadow above the village of Żabnica in the Żywiec county. The building stands on an open clearing, high enough to take in the ridges of the Żywiec Beskids and the surrounding valleys.
It is a classic destination for a one-day trip from the valley — with an approach long enough to feel like a proper mountain walk, and a place to rest at the end of it.
Several marked routes lead to Słowianka. The red trail from Węgierska Górka runs along the ridge across Hala Słowianka towards Hala Pawlusia and Hala Rysianka, forming a natural sequence of Beskid meadows. The blue trail from Bystra to Sopotnia Mała also passes the lodge.
The routes are typical of the Beskids: long forest ascents ending with the view opening up on the meadow.
Cyclists use the black cycling route that starts in Żabnica, leads across Hala Słowianka and Cięcina and returns to the starting point. In winter the lodge can be reached by the black ski route from Cięcina across Magura and Skała — this one, however, is classified as very difficult and requires experience and suitable equipment.
The place works well for families with older children, for walkers looking for a quiet meadow with a view, and for anyone planning a longer trek along the ridge of the Żywiec Beskids. Given the character of the property, it is worth checking availability and opening times in advance.
