Karpacz
Schronisko Górskie Dom Śląski stands in the Karkonosze Mountains, inside Karkonosze National Park, right below the dome of Śnieżka on the Polish side of the ridge. It is the last large roofed place before the final climb, so nearly every hiker heading for the highest peak of the range stops here.
The building houses a buffet with hot drinks and meals and a small shop with souvenirs. It also offers guest rooms and in bad weather serves as a shelter — at this altitude conditions can change within minutes.
The main ridge routes meet by the hut, among them the Main Sudetes Trail, and from here it is a short walk to the Polish-Czech border, the upper station of the cable car to Kopa and the ski area in Karpacz. The slope opens a panorama of the Karkonosze and the Jelenia Góra Valley.
