Orle, Szklarska Poręba
Orle lies at the foot of Granicznik, within the administrative limits of Szklarska Poręba, on the site of the former ironworking settlement of Carlstahl. It consists of two buildings: Strażnica and Hotelik. The place is known not only to hikers but also to cyclists and cross-country skiers.
The hut is open all year round. You can eat here, rest indoors or outside, buy souvenirs, use the Finnish sauna and hire bicycles, cross-country skis and snowshoes. Transport along the route from Jakuszyce is also available, which makes the approach from the car park easier.
In winter the Orle area is one of the best cross-country skiing grounds in the country — the Bieg Piastów routes run through here. In summer walking and cycling trails radiate from the hut: the red one from Chatka Górzystów, the yellow one from Rozdroże pod Działem Izerskim and the green one along a former asphalt road. The Samolot viewpoint is worth a short detour.
