PTTK Mountain Hut on Śnieżnik

A base below the summit of Śnieżnik

The PTTK hut on Śnieżnik stands on Hala pod Śnieżnikiem, in the Śnieżnik Massif of the Eastern Sudetes. It is the closest place to stay for anyone climbing the summit itself and a natural resting point on the routes from Międzygórze and from the Kletno side.

What it offers

The hut operates all year. Walkers find a kitchen and buffet, beds, toilets and a hire point for skis and basic hiking equipment. In winter it often serves as the starting point for ascents of Śnieżnik in snowy conditions.

Trails and neighbours

Three options lead up from Międzygórze: the red trail (about 6 km, 1.5 hours), the black one (8 km, 2 hours) and the blue one (10 km, 2.5 hours). A yellow trail arrives from the Bear Cave — 4 km and an hour of walking. Worth adding to the plan nearby are the Bear Cave, the former uranium mine in Kletno and the Maria Śnieżna sanctuary.
