One of the oldest huts in the Karkonosze

The Pod Łabskim Szczytem hut belongs to PTTK and stands in the Karkonosze National Park above Szklarska Poręba. Its origins go back to the 17th century, when a shepherd's shelter probably operated here — it is one of the oldest buildings of this kind in the whole range.

Interior and panorama

Visitors use a well-stocked buffet with a fireplace, a welcome spot to warm up after a winter hike. From the hut a broad view opens over Szklarska Poręba, the Jelenia Góra Valley and the Izera Mountains, and in clear weather also over the distinctive cone of Ostrzyca.

Trails nearby

Several trails cross by the building, so it fits easily into a longer route. Among them are the yellow trail from Szklarska Poręba and paths towards Szrenica, the Snow Cirques and the Karkonoska Pass.
