The best-known peak of the Sokole Mountains

Krzyżna Góra rises to 654 m above sea level in the Sokole Mountains, in the north-western part of the Rudawy Janowickie, within the Rudawy Landscape Park. The rocky dome crowning the summit is visible from across the Jelenia Góra Valley.

The approach

Drivers leave their cars in the paid car park at the Karpnicka Pass. From there the blue trail leads to the „Szwajcarka” hut and then the black one climbs to the top. The route is not difficult, but involves some 154 metres of ascent and steep rock steps, which can challenge children and older walkers.

Views and the summit cross

From the rocky platform you look out over the Jelenia Góra Valley and the Kaczawskie Mountains. A cross crowns the peak, funded in 1830 by the wife of Wilhelm von Hohenzollern as a birthday gift — it was meant to bring luck to the family and to local people.
