A Green Ravine on the Edge of Szczecin

Dolina Siedmiu Młynów is a stretch of the Osówka river valley in the north-western part of Szczecin, within the Arkoński Forest Park. The name commemorates the seven watermills that once worked on this small stream. Weirs and ponds are what remains of that former water economy.

Nature of the Valley

Squeezed between wooded slopes, the stream creates damp habitats with riparian vegetation. It is a good place to watch birds and amphibians, and some of the species found here are under species protection. In summer the tree canopy gives dense shade, in autumn the slopes turn gold and russet.

Walking, Running, Cycling

The popular Seven Mills – Gubałówka route runs through the valley and is a favourite with walkers, runners and cyclists. The paths are gentle, with no steep climbs, so families with small children cope with them easily. From here it is easy to join neighbouring trails and extend the trip towards Lake Głębokie.
