The Zatyki trail in the forests near Nisko

The nature education trail in Nisko, known as the Zatyki path, runs through the Zatyki forest district in the Nisko county. Marked in green, it forms two loops: a shorter one of about two kilometres for walkers, and a longer one of about five kilometres, also good for cyclists. Both start and finish at the same place.

What to see

There are fourteen stops along the route devoted to forest protection and game management. The most interesting point is the Bardo wilderness – a bog overgrown with characteristic peatland vegetation, clearly different from the surrounding pine woods.

How to get there

From Nisko head towards Rzeszów to a car park about half a kilometre from the town. A forest road branches off there, and after some two hundred metres you reach another car park and the start of the trail.

  • Two forest car parks at the start of the route
  • Fourteen stops with information boards
  • Green waymarking
Cost: Free admission Visit duration: approx. 2 hours Seasonality: All year round, the boggy section can be wet in spring
