Two trails in the heart of Biebrza National Park

The Field Education Centre of Biebrza National Park in Osowiec-Twierdza offers two routes: the nature and history trail Las, marked in red, and the nature trail Kładka, marked in green. Both begin near the fortress, a few kilometres from Goniądz.

What to see

The Las trail leads through pine woods in which combat shelters and fort fortifications have survived. On the rise known as Skobla stands a tower with a view over the Biebrza valley. The Kładka trail runs on wooden boardwalks across the marshes – the best place for watching birds and peatland vegetation. Some military structures nearby remain closed to visitors.

Good to know

Entry to the park is charged; tickets are sold by the tourist information office in Goniądz and by the park headquarters near the fortress. The routes are covered on foot or by bike, and each loop deserves a generous time allowance.
