A Museum beside the Przysłop Hut

The Museum of Mountain Tourism stands on the Przysłop clearing in the Silesian Beskids, right next to the PTTK mountain hut at the foot of Barania Góra. It gathers mementoes, photographs and documents connected with the history of mountain tourism in this part of the Beskids.

The Collection

The display includes old hiking and skiing equipment, badges, publications and materials documenting the growth of mountain huts and tourist organisations in the region. A separate section is devoted to folk culture: traditional highlander costumes and everyday objects from Beskid farmsteads.

Access and Season

Marked trails lead up to Przysłop, among them the red one from Węgierska Górka, the green one from Szczyrk and the blue one from the bus stop in Wisła Czarne — which is why a visit including the climb takes half a day. The museum is open during the tourist season, from May to October, usually at weekends.
