Draisines near Poznań

The Mosina Draisine Railway runs on a former railway line south of Poznań, and its starting point is the disused Mosina Pożegowo station at the corner of Kołłątaja and Budzyńska streets. Visitors sit on a hand-powered draisine and propel it themselves, travelling back and forth on the Mosina Pożegowo – Puszczykówko and Mosina Pożegowo – Osowa Góra sections. Please note: the railway remains temporarily closed for technical reasons.

What the ride offers

The ride itself is both play and light exercise – the pace is set by the passengers pumping the lever. The route crosses the Wielkopolska National Park, so from the draisine you see pine forests, glacial hills and valleys near the Warta river. Families used the service as well as organised groups, for whom bonfires and educational programmes were arranged.

Good to know

Before planning a visit, check the current status of the railway – resuming the rides depends on the condition of the rolling stock and the track. The area itself is attractive: Mosina and Puszczykowo lie in the heart of the national park, with a dense network of hiking and cycling trails.
