A cruise at the foot of Wawel

Boats, water trams and gondolas cast off from the Vistula embankments right below Wawel Hill, in the very centre of Cracow. A cruise usually lasts about an hour and shows the city from an angle invisible from the Old Town: at river level and at an unhurried pace.

What you see from the deck

Straight after departure you pass the Dragon's Den and the bulk of the Royal Castle on Wawel, while on the opposite bank stand the tower of the Redemptorist church and the Skałka monastery. Further on come the Norbertine convent in Zwierzyniec and the Kościuszko Mound, and on longer routes the Camaldolese hermitage in Bielany and the Benedictine abbey in Tyniec.

Good to know

The offer is broad: short sightseeing cruises, trips with a meal on board, evening sailings and private charters. As an alternative you can rent a kayak at one of the marinas and cover the same stretch at your own pace. The embankments are level and accessible to prams.
