Wieś Pieszowola
Perehod begins in Pieszowola by the Parczew–Włodawa road, within the Polesie National Park. The loop is about five kilometres long and runs along the Pieszowola Ponds, a complex of water bodies fringed by reed beds, scrub and heath.
This is a route made for birdwatching. In spring the ponds attract white-tailed eagles, mute swans, great crested grebes, great and grey herons, cormorants and the rare ferruginous duck. The European pond turtle, one of the emblems of Polesie, lives in the water. The trail also passes oak-hornbeam woods and pine forest, so the scenery changes every few hundred metres.
Along the way there are roofed rest areas and an observation tower overlooking the whole pond complex. Bring binoculars and insect repellent, as the ground is damp. Access is by national road 82, turning onto a dirt track by the village of Pieszowola.
