Jaskinia Niedźwiedzia lies in the Śnieżnik Massif, in the Kleśnica valley near the village of Kletno. It was discovered in 1966 during the working of a marble quarry, and its entrance sits at about 800 metres above sea level. It is the longest cave system in the Sudetes and one of the richest in dripstone formations in Poland.
The tourist route is about 360 metres long, lit and comfortable, following a hardened path with railings. Along the way you pass stalactites, stalagmites and columns, as well as flowstone cascades, rimstone pools, domes and draperies. The climax is the chamber with the skeleton of a cave bear, the animal that gave the cave its name.
The cave keeps a constant low temperature and high humidity, so warm clothing is useful at any time of year. The number of entries is limited and visits take place only with a guide, in set groups. A separate variant of the route has been prepared for people with reduced mobility.
