Podlesice 83, Wieś Podlesice
Jaskinia Głęboka is hidden inside Góra Zborów, in the part known as Krucze Skały, in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. It lies next to the village of Podlesice in the Kroczyce commune, Zawiercie county, within the Góry Zborów nature reserve. It is the largest underground karst form in the reserve: the passages measure some 190 metres, and the difference in height between the extreme points exceeds 22 metres.
The cave is among the parts of the reserve most heavily transformed by human activity. Calcite was extracted here before the war, and during the Second World War a limestone quarry operated briefly, destroying the middle section of the system. Those works shaped today's route, which leads through wide chambers and narrow passages with illuminated dripstone formations.
The interior can be entered only with a guide. It is practically the only cave in the northern part of the Kraków-Częstochowa Jura open to tourists. Tickets are sold at the Centre of Cultural Heritage in Podlesice, by the car park next to road no. 792 from Kraków to Katowice. Underground it is cool and damp, so a jacket and shoes with good soles come in handy. The visit can be combined with a walk to the rocky summits of Góra Zborów.
