Wieś Czajowice
Grota Łokietka lies within Ojców National Park, in the limestone rocks of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, by the road from Czajowice to Ojców. It is the longest show cave in this part of the Jura and one of the most visited underground sites in Poland.
The underground route is covered only in groups with a guide. The corridors and chambers have electric lighting, which is rare among the caves of the Jura. The successive halls bear names referring to the king, among them the Knights Hall and Łokietek's Kitchen.
The temperature inside stays around 10 degrees all year, so a warm sweatshirt and closed shoes are useful even in summer. The pattern of the wrought-iron gate at the entrance refers to the legend of Władysław Łokietek, hidden from his pursuers by a spider's web.
