Rozpadlisko w Podgórzynie is a fissure several metres deep separating granite blocks, hidden in woodland above the village of Podgórzyn in the Jelenia Góra Valley, close to Jelenia Góra and the foot of the Karkonosze Mountains. The narrow passage between the walls forms a cool, shaded corridor.
The main curiosity here is granite weathering: tafoni, honeycomb hollows eaten into the rock, and a pale aplite vein cutting through the massif. Mosses and ferns cover the walls, and the microclimate inside differs noticeably from the surrounding forest. A ladder and railings make the descent easier.
The site was already a popular excursion destination in the early 20th century, when a viewpoint, a footbridge and benches were built here. It was then forgotten for decades, and since 2016 local enthusiasts have tidied the area and added information boards. The rocks can be slippery, so sturdy footwear is advisable.
