A cave in the Zielona Góra reserve

The cave lies in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, inside the Zielona Góra nature reserve near the village of Kusięta in the Silesian Voivodeship. The entrance is set in the rocky slope of the hill, reached by forest paths; the last stretch has to be covered on foot.

What you will see

The greatest curiosity is a dense cluster of flowstone columns, that is stalagnates formed where stalactites and stalagmites have joined. Such a concentration is rare in Polish caves. Inside there are two chambers on different levels — the upper one with a sandy floor, the lower with rock debris.

Good to know

The passages run horizontally, so no climbing is needed, but your own torch is essential. The rock is often wet and slippery, so shoes with a good sole and clothes you do not mind dirtying are useful. The cave has no tourist facilities.

Cost: Free admission Visit duration: approx. 2 hours Seasonality: Open all year, access difficult in winter and after rain
