The Sztygarka Training Mine is part of the Municipal Museum in Dąbrowa Górnicza and belongs to the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian province. It was created in 1927 as a place of practical training for pupils of the nearby mining school and served that purpose until 1994.
The accessible section runs for about 600 metres of workings spread over three levels reaching 32 metres below the surface. Visitors see gallery supports, cutting machines and haulage equipment, while successive stations recreate the stages in training future mining staff.
After years of neglect the mine was opened to tourists in 2010. Underground it is 10–11 degrees with humidity reaching 90 percent, so closed shoes are compulsory and warm clothing is useful in any season. The tour lasts about an hour and is led by a guide.
