A lido with history

The Forest Open-Air Pool in Zabrze has operated on Srebrna Street since 1933 and ranks among the largest facilities of its kind in Upper Silesia. The grounds cover some 22 hectares surrounded by woodland, and at their heart are two open-air pools holding 33,000 and 3,000 cubic metres of water. The site is run by the municipal sports centre.

What is on site

Besides the pools and slides, visitors have a beach, football, beach volleyball and basketball courts, table tennis tables, minigolf, a trampoline, a skating ramp and playgrounds. Walking and cycling paths lead around the whole area, and a riding centre operates here as well.

Who it suits

This is a place for a full day out with children or an active afternoon close to the centre of the conurbation. Open-air events and sports competitions are held here in summer. Outside the bathing season the grounds serve as a recreation park, and nearby stand the historic Guido coal mine and the Queen Louise Adit.
