Ponds on Góra Parkowa

Łabędzi Staw, also called the Heron Ponds, is a small landslide lake made up of four connected basins. It lies in Krynica-Zdrój on the slope of Góra Parkowa and forms the third stop on the local educational trail. It owes its name to the swans that have long stayed on its water.

Birds and nature

Many water bird species can be observed on and around the ponds — mallards, teals, coots and moorhens, as well as mute swans, Egyptian geese and Canada geese. The basins are fenced, so swimming is forbidden; the place is meant for observation and walking.

A walk and the area

The educational trail with its information boards runs across the whole massif of Góra Parkowa and suits a short walk, a run or a bike ride. A rope park and the funicular to Góra Parkowa operate nearby, and below waits the Krynica promenade with its pump rooms.
