A lake in the heart of the Tuchola Forest

Lake Karsińskie lies on the Charzykowy Plain, within Zaborski Landscape Park in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. It covers nearly 680 ha, is about 4.6 km long and up to 2.2 km wide, and its indented shores are lined with the pine woods typical of the Tuchola Forest. The water is clean and the bottom mostly sandy, which favours swimming and water sports.

The Brda water trail

The Brda river flows through the lake, linking it with lakes Charzykowskie, Witoczno, Łąckie, Płęsno, Dybrzyk and Kosobudno. Karsińskie is therefore one stage of the popular Brda canoeing and sailing route, and marinas and camping fields along the way let paddlers break the trip.

Where to stay

Most tourist facilities are concentrated in Swornegacie and Małe Swornegacie, with holiday centres, tent fields and campsites. A quieter break is offered by the south-eastern shore with agritourism farms, for example in Owink. Swimming is safest at supervised spots, and the surroundings are best explored by bike along forest tracks.
