Radków
The reservoir in Radków is an artificial body of water in a former quarry pit right next to the town of Radków in the Kłodzko district, at the foot of the Stołowe Mountains. Water filled the old excavation, and the sandstone table mountains in the background give the place a character unlike a typical lowland bathing spot. The Czech border runs about 2 km away.
The shore is developed: there is a supervised bathing area, a pier, walking paths and cycling routes, and climbing walls. The reservoir has been stocked with fish, so anglers appear regularly. Watersports enthusiasts can hire boats and equipment. An extensive range of accommodation — hotels, bungalows and holiday cottages — and catering outlets has grown up around the water.
Radków often serves as a starting point for visiting the Stołowe Mountains National Park; the entrances to Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały are close by. On the Czech side of the border lie the rock towns of Adršpach and Teplice nad Metují. The mix of water, mountains and short drives makes the area comfortable for a stay of several days.
