A former gravel pit in the Kłodzko Valley

The reservoir in Gorzuchów lies in the Kłodzko Valley in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, a dozen or so kilometres from Kłodzko. It was created when disused gravel pits were flooded, which is why the water is clean and the entry into it gentle. The surroundings have been adapted for tourism, and the proximity of Kłodzko with its fortress makes it easy to combine swimming with sightseeing.

By the water

A supervised municipal beach with a bathing area operates on site and is accessible for a fee. Besides swimming and sunbathing, visitors can hire a kayak or a pedal boat and explore the water. There are two volleyball courts and a playground, so the place works well with children. Anglers fish here regularly, and fishing competitions are held at the reservoir.

Surroundings

Gorzuchów makes a good break during a tour of the Kłodzko region. Within a few dozen kilometres lie the Stołowe Mountains with Błędne Skały, the spa towns of Polanica-Zdrój and Duszniki-Zdrój, and Kłodzko itself. The reservoir is busiest during the summer holidays; out of season it is a quiet place for a walk around the water.
