A reservoir in a bend of the Warta

Zalew Tasarki is an artificial recreational lake in Mstów near Częstochowa, on the edge of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. It was created in a scenic bend of the Warta river, in a valley framed by limestone hills, and from the outset it has served leisure rather than water management. The centre of Częstochowa lies barely a dozen kilometres away, which makes the reservoir a popular destination for short trips.

What awaits on site

The recreation area includes sandy beaches, a marked bathing zone and a wooden pier. Walking paths run along the shore, while further inland there is a sports pitch, a children's playground and shelters with barbecue spots. In summer the lake can get crowded — both local residents and tourists exploring the upland come here.

The surroundings

A network of footpaths radiates from the reservoir, with viewing platforms above the Warta gorge offering panoramas of the valley and the limestone outcrops. The river is navigable for canoes here — a popular paddling route leads from Mstów all the way to Częstochowa.
