A lakeland inside the city

Pogoria III is the largest of the water bodies forming the Pogoria lake complex in Dąbrowa Górnicza. It was created in the 1970s by flooding a pit left after sand extraction and, although industrial use was originally intended, today it serves above all as a recreational area.

Beaches and recreation

Supervised beaches, a walking and cycling path, playgrounds, tennis courts, sports pitches and snack bars have been laid out along the shores. Access to the beach leads from Malinowe Górki and Jasna streets, where a free car park has been marked out. A camping spot also operates on the site.

Water sports and the quiet zone

The clear water suits sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and diving. The reservoir has been declared a quiet zone, so craft with combustion engines are not allowed. Thanks to this the water stays calm and noise does not carry into the forests bordering the shore.
