Jezioro Otomińskie lies in Otomin, about 20 kilometres from the centre of Gdańsk, in Pomerania. It is of post-glacial origin, and its elongated shape cut into the forest means that despite the closeness of the city it stays quiet here. The site is leased by the Gdańsk branch of the Polish Angling Association.
The lake is not open for swimming because of a bacteriological risk. On the shore there is a small beach used for resting and sunbathing, and pedal boats can be hired at the nearby hotel. Anglers appear regularly for recreational fishing. This is a place for a walk and an afternoon on the shore rather than for a full beach season.
The lake is covered by the Otomin Protected Landscape Area, established because of the abundance of water birds, reed vegetation and fish. Paths run through the surrounding forest and lead to further stretches of the shoreline.
