A reservoir at the edge of Wolbrom

Zalew Wolbromski lies in the northern part of Wolbrom, in Olkusz County in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, right beside voivodeship road no. 794. The small body of water is above all a place of everyday recreation for local residents, and it also makes a stop for travellers heading towards the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.

What to do here

Paths used by walkers and runners lead around the water, an equipment rental operates here, and sailors and canoeists appear on the surface. Swimming in the reservoir is forbidden. In summer anglers are the largest group. The banks are also a good place to watch water birds, and the area is often chosen for outdoor photo sessions.

Surroundings

Wolbrom itself is a small town with roots going back to the 14th century, with a market square and several monuments worth a short walk. From here it is close to the castles of the Trail of the Eagles' Nests and the limestone outcrops of the upland.
