Las, Wieś Nielisz
Zalew Nielisz lies in the village of Nielisz in the Zamość district, north of Szczebrzeszyn. It was created by damming the Wieprz river and serves as a retention reservoir; with an area of about 950 hectares it is the largest water body of its kind in the region. The shores have been developed with visitors in mind.
There is a supervised bathing area with a beach, a walking pier, a sailing marina with a boathouse and boat rental, and a two-kilometre rowing course. Showers, changing rooms and toilets complete the facilities, and in summer a food outlet and a tourist information point operate here.
The reservoir is popular with anglers, windsurfers and sailors, and walking, cycling and horse-riding trails run around it. Zamość and the Roztocze region are close by, so a longer stop is worth planning.
