Spacerowa, Siemianowice Śląskie
Staw Rzęsa covers about 13 hectares on the site of a former sand mine in Siemianowice Śląskie. Today it is one of the favourite walking areas of the agglomeration: the water is ringed by woods and fields, yet the drive from the centre takes only a quarter of an hour.
Walking and cycling paths and a causeway run around the pond. Visitors are drawn by the fountain, the brine graduation tower, the outdoor gym, the playground and the dinosaur park, while anglers use the designated stands. The flat terrain makes the place comfortable with a pushchair too.
It is a good idea for a short, calm break while travelling across Upper Silesia: a family walk, a picnic or simply stretching the legs. The nearby forest complexes with their paths allow a longer hike, and the closeness of Katowice and Chorzów makes it easy to combine the visit with other sights.
