A lake in the Konin basin

Jezioro Licheńskie stretches beside Licheń Stary in Greater Poland, between Konin and Ślesin. It is joined to Lake Pątnowskie and tied into the cooling system of the Pątnów-Adamów-Konin power plants, which keeps its water on average a few degrees warmer than in neighbouring lakes.

Water and leisure

The warmer water lengthens the season and suits sailors and canoeists, while the link with the adjoining lakes allows even a multi-day paddling trip to be planned. Beaches, bathing areas, moorings and holiday centres operate along the shores. Anglers value the lake as well.

The surroundings

Licheń Stary is known above all for its Marian sanctuary and one of the largest churches in Poland, which translates into a very wide choice of accommodation. The lake is a natural complement to such a visit, offering a break from the pilgrim traffic right next door.
