A reservoir at Kobyla Góra

Zalew Blewązka, also known as Zalew Kobyla Góra, lies in the Ostrzeszów district of Greater Poland, on Marii Konopnickiej street. The reservoir was built between 1972 and 1983 after a dam was raised at Mesznica, and it quickly became the local centre of summer recreation.

By the water

The shore has been developed for visitors: there is a beach with a bathing area and rentals of boats and water equipment, complemented by accommodation and food outlets. Anglers value the water, which holds bream, tench, perch, pike, zander, asp and catfish; the local angling club restocks it regularly and holds competitions.

Good to know

The area has a rich past: insurgents of 1848 and later the Greater Poland insurgents gathered here. A Jewish cemetery has survived close to the reservoir.
