The beach in Czernichów lies in the Żywiec district, where the Soła river meets Lake Międzybrodzkie, right next to Międzybrodzie Żywieckie. A grassy shore slopes gently into the water, and the Żar massif — one of the best known landmarks of the Little Beskids — rises above the surface. Gliders from the nearby airfield circle over the area on a regular basis.
The bathing area is supervised, so swimming takes place under the eye of lifeguards. A water sports rental operates on site, and the wide lawn leaves plenty of room for a blanket or a deckchair. It makes a convenient afternoon base after a full day of hiking in the Little or the Żywiec Beskids.
The beach is popular with locals and visitors alike, so hot weekends can get crowded — mornings are the calmest. Lake Żywieckie lies nearby, and a rack railway runs up the slope of Żar to the upper reservoir of the pumped-storage power plant.
